Yummy yummy yummy I’ve got cake in my tummy

I like to bake cakes, big cakes, cupcakes, tiny little cupcakes, cakes.  I also like to bake other things but I’m not nearly so good at them.  Sometimes I remember to snap a picture before they get eaten, when I do, I will post them on this blog, but usually I get carried away with the eating *sigh*.

Here is a recap of some cakes I have baked as I start moving most things from the main site into here.

Christmas Cake

My first marzipan and icing experience with this Delia recipe Christmas Cake

A lovely friend bought me a copy of Cupcakes from The Primrose Bakery it’s a brilliant book, I have made these from it so far:

teacakes

Earl Grey teacakes from The Primrose Bakery cupcake book

coffeecakes

Rather tasty coffee cupcakes

A selection of cupcakes for christmas

Here we have some vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting, chocolate cupcakes with brandy butter frosting, ginger cucpakes with ginger frosting, and chocolate cupcakes with peppermint icing

This next cake was a beast, it is from Mich Turner’s Spectacular Cakes which I received as a christmas present. This cake was baked for a 60th birthday and contains over a kilo of dark chocolate! It has the texture of a brownie more than a cake and after the party I received a request for another one for a couple of weeks later!
Seriously chocolatey cake

Over a kilo of chocolate went into this towering torte like cake
