Sweethearts

For Christmas my lovely boyfriend bought me the latest Stitch ‘n Bitch book: Stitch ‘n Bitch Superstar Knitting! I love this book, there are soooo many patterns in this that I can’t wait to knit up. Today I offer you this, my attempt at Karissa Watt’s Sweetheart sweater.

Karissa Watt's Sweatheart Sweater

wow just wow

I loved the simple construction of this sweater, there is no waist shaping or armhole shaping to mess up the lovely lace work pattern (I still get in confusion mode when working out shaping decreases and keeping to lace pattern) I also love the slash neck.

I think the heart motif is so cute

I knit this in Stitch Nation’s Bamboo Ewe which I managed to snag on sale from Stash Fine Yarns so I was extremely happy, the shade is Geranium which when it was first delivered, I thought oh no that’s soooo bright I hate it! This worry was short lived however, as it was sooo nice to knit with (minus a couple of knots but they blended well in the knitting) and as an entire sweater I don’t think it is too bright any longer, besides, it kinda just goes with the heart pattern. Although if there had been anymore yarn available I would have gone for a more deeper/darker red I guess.
I had absolutely no problems knitting this sweater and it was so quick! I am pretty pleased with the outcome, it is certainly wearable, but I think if I were to make it again, I would make it bigger, lengthen the body and the sleeves, I like to pull sleeves down over my hands. I actually have visions of turning this into something oversized and baggy that would look good over leggings maybe.

I like how it takes a second for your eyes to realise these are hearts, this went down a storm when I pointed it out and knit and knatter

I also need to get a new camera, these shots are making me look really wide, I’m not happy with that! :S
